About the Role

Primcura Healthcare is seeking an experienced Paediatric Nurse to provide night-time care for a child with complex medical needs in their home. This role is ideal for a confident, skilled nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

Respiratory Care

• Manage severe hypoventilation
• Follow a robust respiratory plan including oxygen guidance
• Perform oral and deep suctioning
• Provide chest physiotherapy
• Deliver bag-valve-mask ventilation in emergency apnoea situations

Seizure Management

• Implement a comprehensive seizure plan for home and hospital
• Provide oxygen and suctioning as needed
• Administer emergency seizure medications

Enteral Feeding

• Manage feeding via mini button (14Fr 1.5cm)
• Administer milk feeds and blended diet
• Monitor for vomiting and aspiration risks

Mobility & Postural Support

• Assist with spinal brace, arm/leg splints, AFOs, and hand splints
• Monitor skin integrity
• Support with dystonia

Elimination

• Provide care for double incontinence (pads day & night)
• Assist with constipation and IBS management

Medication

• Follow a symptom-management plan
• Administer medications under a complex seizure protocol

Requirements

• RNC (Registered Children’s Nurse) or RGN with paediatric experience
• Proven competency in all listed clinical areas
• Experience in community or complex paediatric care desirable
• Confident working independently during night shifts
• Compassionate, reliable, and calm in emergencies

What We’re Looking For

• At least 6 months’ UK care experience
• Must have experience in providing personal care and demonstrate a willingness to support individuals with their personal care needs.
• Right to work in the UK (with documentation)
• A calm, confident, and patient approach to support
• Full UK driving licence & car
• Minimum of 24 hours availability per week
• Enhanced DBS (don’t worry – we can sort this for you)
