Self-funding means you pay for your own care when your savings or assets exceed the local council’s upper capital limit, which in England is currently £23,250 (source NHS). You have full control over your care arrangements and provider choice.
In 2025, the average cost for care ranges from £22 to £35 per hour, Costs may be higher in the South East due to increased demand and living expenses.
Every care plan is bespoke. Our packages typically start from £22 per hour and we’ll work with you to create a tailored solution that fits your needs and budget.
In England, if your capital exceeds £23,250, you’re required to self-fund your care (source NHS). Those with assets below this amount may qualify for partial or full local authority funding following a needs assessment.
There are four main options for funding long-term care, whether it is provided by a live-in personal assistant or in a care home. These include local authority funding, NHS continuing healthcare, self-funding, and state benefits.
Getting started is simple. Call the Care Division on 01227 935700 (option 2) or email care@primcurahealthcare.co.uk, and we’ll help design a compassionate, personalised care plan tailored to your needs.
We provide tailor-made care plans delivered with dignity, respect, and kindness, supported by highly experienced healthcare professionals trained in-house. Our proactive Out-of-Hours team is available around the clock, giving you complete peace of mind.
Great place to work. I love working here; the team are very friendly and always offer me work in my area. I love having the option of working in different care settings—one day a children's home, the next a private hospital. It keeps my days interesting.
