Job Description

The Client is opening a brand-new, Ofsted-registered residential children’s home in the Medway area and is looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join the team.

The home will support young people aged 12–17 with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (EBD), providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where they can thrive.

🧩 About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care and development of young people by:

  • Providing high-quality, child-centered care in line with individual care plans

  • Promoting a positive, safe, and nurturing home environment

  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and documenting incidents appropriately

  • Engaging young people in activities, education support, and daily routines

  • Maintaining accurate records in line with regulatory requirements

  • Working collaboratively with managers and the wider staff team

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in an Ofsted-regulated children’s home

  • Experience supporting children with EBD

  • Level 3 NVQ / Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Children Act 1989 and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015

  • Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

  • Full UK driving license

  • Willingness to work flexibly, including sleep-ins
