Role Overview

As the Registered Manager, you will hold legal responsibility for the home in line with Ofsted regulations. You will ensure the highest standards of care, lead and inspire a dedicated team, and drive the home towards achieving and maintaining an Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

  • Provide strong and inspirational leadership to staff, ensuring a culture of safeguarding, professionalism, and child-centred care.

  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.

  • Manage all aspects of the home’s operations, including budgets, staffing, policies, and regulatory compliance.

  • Recruit, train, and develop a skilled staff team, providing supervision and ongoing support.

  • Ensure that the home consistently meets or exceeds Ofsted expectations and outcomes for children.

  • Foster positive relationships with young people, families, local authorities, and external agencies.

  • Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

About You

  • Significant experience in children’s residential care, with at least 2 years in a leadership/management role.

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential.

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • A proven track record of achieving good or outstanding Ofsted outcomes.

  • Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

  • Full UK driving licence – desirable.
