Our client is seeking a caring and committed Residential
Support Worker to join their welcoming home in Broadstairs. The home
supports up to five young people (aged 8–18) with complex trauma, learning
disabilities, autism, challenging behaviours, and mental health needs.

safety, and consistency—providing a structured, nurturing environment built on
clear boundaries and mutual respect.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be central to making this environment safe, warm, and
growth‑focused. In this role, you will:
Provide
compassionate 1:1 and group support, adjusting your approach to
suit each young person’s developmental and emotional needs.
Maintain
consistent boundaries and expectations, helping de-escalate
challenging behaviour calmly and confidently.
Build
trust and confidence in young people by modelling positive behaviour and
celebrating progress.
Create
a structured, home-like environment through day-to-day routines—meals,
hygiene, and activities.
Foster
life skills and independence, encouraging decision-making and involvement
in everyday tasks.
Who You Are
Essential
Previous
experience supporting children or young people, especially with complex
trauma, LD, autism, mental health, or challenging behaviours.
Understanding
of complex childhood trauma.
Compassion,
emotional resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Strong
communication skills—able to build trust with young people and collaborate
effectively with colleagues.
Flexibility
to work varied hours (evenings, weekends, sleep-ins) as needed.
Desirable
NVQ/QCF
Level 3 in Children & Young People or Health & Social Care (or
equivalent).
Training
in behaviour management, First Aid, or relevant certifications.
Full,
clean driving licence and access to reliable transport.
