Healthcare Agency Staff in Kent
Let’s face it — finding the right temporary staffing agency in healthcare can feel a bit like online dating: everyone promises the world, but the reality doesn’t always live up to the profile.
At Primcura, we believe in real relationships, not just quick fixes.
As the Client Relationship Manager, I take pride in building genuine, lasting partnerships with our clients across Kent — the kind where you don’t need to second-guess who’s turning up to your shift at 7am.
Let’s be honest, the Healthcare Sector is challenging enough without the additional worry of staffing your service. To help you navigate the world of temp staffing without the stress (or surprises), here are a few key red and green flags I feel you should look out for when choosing an agency.
Green Flags – Signs You’ve Found “The One”
Fully Compliant with CQC and Ofsted Standards
A trustworthy agency doesn’t cut corners. They’ll provide staff who are properly vetted, DBS-checked, fully trained, and compliant with CQC or Ofsted (depending on your service type). If they’re not ticking those boxes, AVOID!
Only Experienced, Fully Trained Professionals
We don’t do guesswork at Primcura. Our staff are seasoned professionals who know the ropes. We do not hire new to care as we understand the importance of having staff who can hit the ground running.
Open, Honest Communication
This is something I am passionate about. Having a clear line of communication between a client and the office team is Key. A good agency keeps in touch, answers the phone (even after hours), and keeps things simple and transparent.
They Look After Their Staff (and It Shows)
Agencies that pay fairly, provide support, and offer consistent shifts tend to attract reliable, motivated workers — and that makes a big difference to the quality of care you receive.
Red Flags – RUN!
Rates That Are Too Good to Be True
If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Extremely low rates from an agency can be a red flag—they might be bypassing IR35 regulations or compromising on essential processes. Those shortcuts could land you in serious compliance trouble.
Vague or Missing Compliance Documents
“Don’t worry, they’re all checked” or “Full training” isn’t a valid answer. You should be able to request — and receive — proof of DBS, training, and references without feeling like you're asking for the world.
Inconsistent Staffing – New Faces Every Shift
If you find yourself reintroducing yourself every day or having to complete an induction every time you book in an agency shift, it’s a warning sign. Frequent staff changes suggest weak workforce management and can seriously impact both care continuity and team morale
Lack of Support in Critical Moments
If your agency goes silent when issues arise or you need urgent help, it’s a clear sign of poor communication and unreliable support.
In summary, having an agency you can rely on to be reliable, trustworthy and quick to respond is essential. You need to know that the staff assisting with your cover will hit the ground running and have the experience to back it up. At Primcura Healthcare this is something we pride ourselves on.

Great place to work. I love working here; the team are very friendly and always offer me work in my area. I love having the option of working in different care settings—one day a children's home, the next a private hospital. It keeps my days interesting.

The recruitment process wasn’t lengthy and I was informed of my application’s progress throughout. I learned a lot during their in-house training, as I took a short break from healthcare.
